When a callout is worth it

A wasp nest does not disappear on its own, and the insects grow noticeably more irritable towards the end of summer. These are the situations we deal with day in, day out:

Nest in the roller shutter box

The classic case: the nest sits hidden inside the roller shutter box and the blinds can barely be moved. We remove it without damaging the box unnecessarily.

Nest under the roof

In the attic, under the tiles or along the eaves — often unnoticed until the flight path gives it away. We locate exactly where it sits and use climbing equipment where needed.

Nest in the wall or façade

Wasps get inside the wall through a cavity in the façade insulation or a gap in the masonry. We find the entrance and remove the nest without opening up the structure unnecessarily.

Ground nest in the garden

Hidden in the lawn or under paving slabs, with a real risk of tripping and being stung while mowing. Ground-nesting wasps sit deep in the soil and need different methods than a free-hanging nest.

Nest on the balcony or patio

When a summer evening on the terrace becomes a risk, it needs dealing with quickly. We usually prioritise balcony jobs, because they affect daily life directly.

Our methods — depending on location and species

Not every nest needs the same treatment. We choose the method that gets there with the least impact.

Gentle

Cold treatment

The nest is flash-frozen with a special coolant. The insects become inactive instantly, with no biocide at all — particularly suitable for accessible nests close to living space.

For exposed nests

Mechanical removal

The entire nest is taken down in full protective gear and removed in a sealable container — clean, residue-free and without any chemicals.

Preferred for beneficial species

Relocation

Where it is professionally sound, we relocate the colony alive to an unproblematic site — especially with the beneficial European hornet or the paper wasp.

Only when necessary

Biocide treatment

For very large, inaccessible or acutely dangerous nests (inside a wall, for example) we apply an approved biocide precisely — compliant with the ChemRRV chemical ordinance and never over a wide area.

Safety comes first

Every job is carried out in full personal protective equipment to SUVA (Swiss accident insurance) standards. We secure the surrounding area, tell you how long you need to wait before using it again, and make sure that neighbours, children and pets are never put at risk while we work. Once we are done, you receive a documented job report in line with SN EN 16636.

Common questions & concerns

What customers ask us most often before a callout.

Why should I not remove the nest myself?

Without protective equipment the risk of multiple stings is high — especially once the nest has grown or sits in an awkward spot. When disturbed, wasps release an alarm pheromone that calls further insects to attack. We work in full protective gear and with a professional assessment, so that nothing goes wrong for you.

Is the job safe for children and pets?

Yes. We choose the method so that residues and risk stay minimal, and we tell you clearly how long to keep away from the area. If a biocide is needed, it is applied precisely and in line with the Swiss chemical risk reduction ordinance (ChemRRV) — never over a wide area.

The nest is very high up or hard to reach — is that still possible?

Yes. For nests on the gable, under the eaves or inside the façade we work with climbing equipment or an aerial platform. This is factored into the assessment over the phone and into the fixed price, so you know in advance what to expect.

How quickly can I expect a callout?

If you call in the morning, we are usually on site the same day. If there is acute danger — a nest close to living space, or an allergy in the household — we prioritise your request.

Does the quoted fixed price really hold?

Yes. You receive the fixed price on the phone, based on the location, height and size of the nest. If things look different on site, we tell you before we carry on — there are no later surprises on the invoice.

What happens to the nest after removal?

We remove the nest completely and dispose of it properly. If we relocate instead, the colony is moved alive to a suitable spot where it bothers nobody. You will find the details in our guide on nest disposal.
